WAHT WE DO

Education
& Training

The educational potential of the woods falls into two main categories – environmental education and outdoor learning. The woods offer a fascinating window into the natural environment and a place where people can actively engage in hands-on learning.

Some of the training courses that we have been able to provide for our volunteers: woodland management,  chainsaw, brushcutting, tree climbing, first aid and forestry specific first aid.

In addition, we have worked with organizations to offer outdoor learning for the local home-education community and other groups.

If you would like to bring your group into the woods for outdoor learning please get in touch to discuss your needs. We can provide ‘walks and talks’ around different topics such as Tree ID or woodland management, or activity/training days such as traditional coppicing (season dependent).

Wellbeing

The woods offer a unique opportunity to improve people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. The therapeutic value of natural woodlands is well proven, and we are keen to maximize these benefits for the community through encouraging recreational use and partnering with other organizations that can offer activities for wellbeing.

If you are a provider and would like to work with us, please get in touch.
