This week our volunteers were diverted from woodland work to clear the public footpath at the bottom of the Alpines. This is not a part of Pigshill and Clarrick Woods, so it is not our responsibility but we felt that the piles of debris were impeding walkers and increasing the chance of the drains being blocked further. This has previously created a hazard to drivers and walkers when the drain has overflowed, flooding the road and leaving icy patches. Thanks, as always, to the volunteers for their hard work.
With the funding of CIOS Good Growth Fund and help from sailors from HMS Raleigh we have completed another picnic area for all to enjoy. Come and use it and please respect the woods. Thanks.
